Experience wine tasting at its unique best! Puffing Billy Railway is proud to present the 2012 season of the Steam & Cuisine Wine Train!

Travel aboard this century-old steam train and taste local wines with a sumptuous three course dinner to match! This sumptuous evening of food and fine wine departs Belgrave at 7pm after an initial wine tasting on the platform. You will travel to Lakeside before arriving back in Belgrave at 10pm.

We have secured two local wineries - TarraWarra Estate and Helen's Hill Winery - who will each take centre stage aboard our enclosed dining carriages for an evening.

THE JOURNEY, WINES AND FOOD

From 7.00pm our guest wine presenter will greet passengers at Puffing Billy's Belgrave Platform and introduce everyone to our first tasting for the evening.

At 7.30pm the train departs Belgrave and travels through the scenic Dandenong Ranges to Lakeside Station located in Emerald. During this segment of the journey, entrée and main course will be served whilst our wine presenter enlightens passengers about the local wines being tasted with each course.

At Lakeside Station passengers have time to stretch their legs before embarking on the return journey where dessert will be served accompanied with the final wine tasting. The evening will conclude with tea and coffee being served before arriving back into Belgrave Station.

"Our expectations were exceeded! Our 5th wedding anniversary was coming up and we were looking for something different to the standard restaurant outing. I read about the Steam & Cuisine Wine Train in a newspaper the week before and made a booking online. It was a very memorable evening. Derek the host was great to talk with and the TarraWarra Estate dinner and wine was excellent, as were the wait staff. The decor of the carriages and table settings were lovely, the train is well maintained and clearly loved by those who work and volunteer on it. (...) Earlier in the day I called to enquire about purchasing a souvenir for my husband (who had never been on Puffing Billy). I spoke with Sue who happily organised a gift for me. It was nicely wrapped and on our table with my husband's name on it - more than I expected and a really nice touch. A wonderful night that I'd recommend to anyone looking for a touch of old world romance!"

BYO beverages are not permitted.
Smoking is not permitted on the train or under any roofed areas.
Whilst every attempt is made to honour all bookings, PBR reserves the right to alter events, timetables or locomotives without prior notice.
Should Puffing Billy Railway be unable to run this train, we will endeavour to transfer your booking to another date, however if this is not possible, a full refund will be given. In this instance, we will notify you of the cancellation by email and phone as soon as possible. As a result, we encourage you to provide us with your email address and a mobile telephone number at the time of booking.
Due to the heritage nature of the carriages, we do not have facilities to provide for or accommodate high chairs, prams or wheelchairs and there are no bottle warming facilities.
No toilets are available aboard Puffing Billy's carriages, however toilets can be found at each main station.
Due to the heritage nature of our dining carriages, people of generous proportions might find space slightly restrictive. Kindly contact our Customer Service Centre should you have any concerns.

PAYMENT POLICY

For bookings under 10 people, full payment is required at time of booking.
For all online bookings, full payment is required at time of booking.
For group bookings of 10 or more people, a deposit payment of $25.00 per person is required at time of booking, however if the booking is made within 30 working days of travel, full payment is required.
Balance payment is required 30 working days prior to date of travel.

CANCELLATION POLICY

For bookings under 10 people, tickets are non refundable nor transferable.
For all online bookings, tickets are non refundable nor transferable.
For group bookings of 10 or more people:
- If a cancellation is made within 30 working days of travel, no refund will be given.
- If a cancellation is made 31 – 90 days out, the deposit is forfeited.
- If a cancellation is made over 90 days out, the deposit is refunded less a 10% administration fee.

Helen's Hill 9 March

Helen's Hill Estate is located in the pristine Yarra Valley and is named after the previous owner of the property, Helen Fraser. The estate produces two labels: Helen's Hill and Ingram Rd. Both labels are made onsite by head winemaker Scott McCarthy.
