John Snell of the famous Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway in the UK has sent us a few colour photos taken in 1957, showing the operations of the line prior to closure of the Upper Ferntree Gully - Belgrave section in 1958.  Reproduced from Narrow Gauge magazine No. 150, October 1998.

At Belgrave, 7A has run around the train and ready for departure back to 'The Gully'.  Fireman Len Stratton chats with visitors while a Ganger waits to follow the train back to Belgrave on his trolley as a 'Fire Patrol'.   This practice continues today during summer months.
